Every 4 years, the Regional Natural Park monitors the populations of the Owl of Athena.
This little owl is the size of a Blackbird but much stockier!
She's very close to homes because it likes old barns and hollow trees to nest.
From the mid-February until early April 2024, tracking will begin!
How does it happen ?
At nightfall, nocturnal listening points will be carried out
A total of 66 point will be carried out in all sectors where the species was historically present within the Park territory and nearby.
To carry out this monitoring and analyze the data collected over many years, an intern will accompany the Natural Environments division.
Don't hesitate to come and say hello if you come across a few people wearing reflective vests one evening in your town.
Follow our networks, you will have news of this follow-up!
The engineering and the internship are co-financed by Europe, the State, the Grand Est Region and the Department of Marne as part of the Green and Blue Network Action Program 2023-2025
