Great news !

The first part of the pond restoration work of the commune of Rilly-la-Montagne is finished!!

Five ponds were restored during the month of October. Indeed, during this period, the soils are very dry and the amphibians are out of the water. This work, lasting 3 weeks, made it possible to give a facelift to these ponds which were beginning to fill up.

This filling was due to the significant plant cover which had grown there (trees, shrubs) and vases accumulated over the years (dead leaves).

This work notably made it possible to remove trees that were threatening to fall. Thanks to the heavy rains of recent weeks, all of the restored ponds areThey are already filled with water.

Amphibians will have the joy of discovering them when they wake up in spring!

The second phase of work, which will finalize the restoration of this pond network, will take place in 2025.

This project is the result of cooperation between actors : the commune of Rilly-la-Montagne, the National Forestry Office and the Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park.
