The forest edges are an integral part of the landscape of the Montagne de Reims. They in fact define the transition space between the forest and its surrounding environment, like the vine. This limit can take different forms, more or less artificialized and progressive. Real
links between two opposing environments, well-developed forest edges bring great ecological, economic and landscape advantages.

Directly dependent on environmental management, the morphology of the edges undergoes great variations
both in time and space. However, the edges generally tend to be eaten away for the benefit of crops or urbanization and thus see
their space becomes restricted.

Among its missions, the Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park studies, protects and enhances the natural environments of our territory to promote biodiversity.

This practical guide, developed as part of the preservation and restoration of the Green and Blue Network, is intended for all stakeholders in the region. It will allow you to discover the different services provided by the edges and the importance of preserving them.
