Embark with us on a journey into the forest and discover the testimony of a municipality among those who have embarked on the creation of islands of old wood: these forest sectors are favorable to great biodiversity as well as health of our wooded areas.

More than 25% of forest species depend on dead or dying wood! These birds, bats, amphibians, saproxylic insects and even fungi live there, reproduce and feed there, participating in the proper functioning of the forest ecosystem and enriching the soil.

In 2021, as part of its call for applications for the development of an old wood network, the Park supported several volunteer forest owners in the identification of plots where no further intervention will take place for 30 years. Compensation was paid to compensate for the financial loss of non-exploitation of the afforestation.
