The Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park, with its hilly forest and vineyards, attracts many people practicing outdoor activities all year round. This enthusiasm is reflected in the number and diversity of sporting events organized in the territory during the year 2023, for which the opinion of the PNR is requested in advance.
In order to support organizers and guarantee events that take place with minimal impact on natural environments and sensitive sites of the territory, the PNR studies different criteria and issues recommendations. These include, for example, respecting a period of nocturnal quietude for wildlife, the use of traceless marking or the ccircumvention of certain sensitive points.
The objective is to allow practitioners from all backgrounds to continue to come together to explore the roads and trails of the Montagne de Reims!
To highlight and analyze this sporting dynamic in the region, we have compiled the data and itineraries of the sporting events organized in 2023 which required an opinion from the Park, to highlight some key figures and highlights.
For example, the Park issued a favorable opinion on the organization of 64 sporting events, including 75% trails, cycling events or hiking.
