Country hedges have, in many aspects, great ecological, economic and agronomic advantages. They have dotted the territory of the Montagne de Reims, mainly in the form of forest plugs, but have tended to disappear since the mechanization of agriculture.

Among its missions, the Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park studies, protects and enhances the natural environments of our territory to promote biodiversity. As part of the preservation and restoration of the Green and Blue Network, the Park is publishing a technical guide on rural hedges for individuals, communities, businesses and farmers.

In order to preserve local biodiversity, the native species of the Montagne de Reims are presented to you in descriptive sheets.

Through this booklet, you will be able to discover the different services provided by hedges and learn how to design, plant and maintain a rural hedge.
